Looking for any information about the family of James Smith (b. abt 1831 in Ireland) and his wife Ellen Palmer Smith(b. about 1834 in Ireland) They are listed in the 1860 abd 1880 census as living in Manchester, Hartford County, Connecticut. According to the 1880 census, they resided in Vernon, Tolland County, Connecticut.
They were the parents of at least 10 children:
Katherine/Catherine (b. abt 1855, never married)
Mary A. Smith (b. Jan 1857 in Tennessee). She married Dennis Fay/Fahey.
Thomas J. Smith (b. Nov. 1860), married Ellen/Nellie J. Noonan.
Julia Smith, b. about 1863 in Connecticut. No other information.
William Palmer Smith b. Oct 1864 in Connecticut. He married Nora Toohey/Touhey abt 1890.
Margaret/Maggie Smith, b. abt 1867 in Connecticut. No other information.
James Smith, b. about 1870 in Connecticut. No other information.
John Smith, b. Feb 1874 in Connecticut. No other information.
George Smith, b. Aug. 1874 married Ruth Fox.
Ellen/Nellie Smith, b. June 1877, married to Unknown Carr/Care.
