Samuel LOYD b. ca 1845 of Fairfield Co., CT in house of Thomas and Hannah Loyd on 1850-1860 census Greenwich, Fairfield Co., CT. Samuel serv. Civil War Co., I,10th Regt.,CT Inf. as did his brother Thomas.

Question: Was this Samuel LOYD the same as Charles STAFFORD alias Samuel LOYD who applied for Civil War pension 1932 in Missouri? Charles on his application said he serv. Co., I, 10th Regt. CT. [I have ordered this pension record...am waiting to see what it said]

A Charles STAFFORD b. 16 Nov 1845 CT [family tradion was his parents were Thomas LOYD and Hannah ROBBINS of Fairfield Co., CT]...this Charles is found the first time on the 1900 Fed. Census, Clinton Co., MO; he and his family removed to St. Joseph, MO by 1910. He died at St. Joseph 1934. Charles m Julia Ann ROBBINS of Otsego Co., NY by 1886 when their daug Florence was born in Kansas. [1900 census]

Was he the Charles STAFFORD alias Samuel LOYD? and the Charles who applied for Civil War Pension in 1932?

On census records both Samuel and Charles were 'carpenters'. They both had parents Thomas and Hannah... Can anyone solve this mystery???
