Edward Godfrey

I am searching for information on Edward Godfrey (my 3rd great grandfather) shown in the census listing below:

1860 US Census of Ridgefield Township of Fairfield Co., CT:

Edward Godfrey, 61, M, Farmer, born CT
Harriet E. Godfrey, 54, F, born NY
Elizabeth K. Godfrey, 19, F, born NY
Lucy Marshall, 30, F, born NY
Clarissa Godfrey, 17, F, born NY
Emily A. Godfrey, 13, F, born NY

In the 1830 and 1840 census records, Edward was living in the Cornwall Township of Orange Co., NY. By the 1850 census he was in the New Town Township of Queens Co., NY. No record of Edward or Harriet Godfrey can be found in US Census records anywhere after 1860, so they seem to have both died before 1870. A search of records in Fairfield, CT produced a listing in “Connecticut, 1600s-1800s Local Family Histories, New England Families, Vol. III, Genealogies and Memorials, Page 1552. It states that Samuel H. Godfrey (a son of Jonathan Godfrey and Elizabeth Hubbell who had married in 1823) married Harriet A. Godfrey, daughter of Edward Godfrey.

It appears that Edward Godfrey may have come from the Fairfield Co., CT Godfrey line and returned there in his latter years. Any information on his ancestors, siblings, date of death, or his wife's maiden name would be appreciated.
