Frances, 1860 census, New Canaan, CT: Burr Sturges 30, shoe maker, born CT Hannah S., 24, born CT Wilbur C., 3, born CT Arthur S., 2, born CT Henry B. 7/12, born CT There was also a Burr Sturges, 56, living with his family in Weston. Perhaps a relative? Apparently not his father though, as on the 1850 census in Wilton, CT: Hanford Sturges, 50, born CT Martha, 49, born CT Burr, 20, shoe maker, born CT Sarah, 18, b. CT Henry, 14, b. CT Martha, 12, b. CT Warren, 9, b. CT Hanford was in Wilton on the 1830 and 1840 census so you can figure Burr was born in Wilton. No sign of Burr and Hannah on the 1870 census. On the 1880 census Burr is in Weston, age 50, divorced, living in the household of Samuel Waterbury as a boarder. Wilbur is married, wife Myrtle, and also is living in Weston. Henry is in Wilton, living in the household of Ambrose Lockwood as a boarder. Could not locate Hannah on the 1880, nor Arthur. Bill St. George Notify Administrator about this message?
