SEARS

I am at a brick wall with my ancestror David Sherman Sears born 1780 near Bridgeport, possibly Monroe or Stratford. I know from an old genealogy book on my family that his parents died when he was young, and he had 2 sisters Hannah and Betsey, "one of whom married a Plumb". David, himself, married Thankful Irish in Pawling, NY and they settled in Cayuga County NY where he died in 1850. I have lots of info on this family but am trying to find out info on David's parents, siblings etc. I became interested in Elijah Sears who died in 1780 or 1781 (Huntington, CT) when I found probate records listing his administrator as Elizabeth Ann Sears. I was postulating that perhaps Elizabeth was Elijah's wife and that they may have had a daughter (David's sister) who they named Betsey. However that has become a dead end as well. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!
