Because there was one born in 1839 according to the Bible record. It got confusing because the bible record had been erased below that and later on it had a Samuel J marrying a Mary Edith Pennoyer. I don't know if she was a cousin or they called her that becaused she married one. Anyway, Samuel J was actually the 2nd Samuel. Once I saw that in the other census', I was certain. Hey Bill,
