Ridgfield in Review : summary of David Scott Family
David(1st)(1675-1760)- m.? Mary both of Ireland.
---son James
-----gson- David(2nd)(1727-1802) m.1751 Hannah Smith (1734-1829) 12 children will provided for ea. 10 children born between 1752-1778 one son Gideon married Anna Burt another dau. Rana Scott married John Barlow Jr. in 1789. The story goes that the name David was passed down every other generation through a James. It is not clear who the father of the 3rd David Scott is.

------? David Scott(3rd) (?-aft 1845)commissioned an Ensign of the 2nd Company 16th Reg in May 1777. a dau married Lewis June. David commisioned as Postmaster of Scott's Ridge july 1841. Remained in office until 1845. the post office may have been in David Scott's home later the home of Hamilton B. Scott. More info please write me. Photo of his house (built 1810) can be included.

I hope this helps rule in or out your Scott connection. My impression from the tidbits in the Ridgfield in Review book is that all 3 David Scott's stayed in Ridgefield, however this is not clearly stated in the book.
