For the HOYT family, please check:
Also, don't miss the most recent ideas on Simon's origins/wife, etc. Some of the information is from the Great Migration Project at NEHGS, and debunks the Upway origins.
For the Tuttle Family, be sure to check out:
Prindle, Paul W., FASG. ANCESTRY OF ELIZABETH BARRETT GILLESPIE (MRS. William Sperry Beineke.)(1976)
Prindle published some of the court records of the trial, and the appendix includes a map of colonial New Haven, showing where the Tuttles lived. Although I don't have Tuttles, Gillespie and I share about seven surnames in common--and Prindle's book is a good source for clues to more primary research.
There was also a good article on the Tuttles in a recent (within the last five years), Genealogy Periodical (I can't remember the publication, but it detailed the family and their wacky problems)--so check PERSI, the Periodical Resource Index.
Good luck and happy hunting, Maureen Mead
