I am trying to connect the death notice of William H. Gilbert. formerly of Mt. Joy Twp. Adams, Pa. who died in New Canaan, Ct June 7, 1916, and William H. Gilbert who was the son of Jonathan and Sarah Frazer Gilbert. William H. Gilbert was born April 6, 1851. This notice appeared in the Gettysburg, Pa. Compiler for June 10, 1916.
I have three photographs that were taken at North Potographer, South Norwalk, Ct. The first is a child, inscribed "To Aunt Grace and Grandmam, H.F. Gilbert, born May 29, 1882." The second is of a young woman, marked, Sue Gilbert. The third photo is not identified. It is of a well dressed gentleman sporting a handle bar mustach
William H. Gilbert may have had a connection with the tobacoo industry. Cigar making was one of the cheif industries in Adams Co. Pa. during that era.
Other Pa. families connected are Frazer and Colestock. Will be delighted to share.
