John P. Westcott was born in 1807, place unknown, married Abigail Rich, b. 1809, place also unknown. John is listed on the US Census for 1840 living in the town of Fairfield, Franklin County, Vermont. I have a reference that states that the town of Fairfield was founded by people who had come from Fairfield, Connecticut, between 1788 and 1791, but I haven't been able to prove that this was the case with my Westcotts or the Riches.
Offspring were Davis B., Polly, Hiram Nichols, and John Albert.
John P. Westcott's father may have been a Lyman Westcott.
