gun manufacturers in Fairfield county

Can anyone tell me the names of gun manufacturers and the town/cities in the Fairfield county area in 1904? My gg grandfather worked at one and had an accident at the facility which resulted in his death. So the story goes. At the time he died, Dec. 1904 according to the headstone he lived in Bridgeport. Bridgeport does not have his death certificate and no mention was made in the Bridgeport papers, not even an obituary. Thanks.
