I have mysterious Cryans, too. Mary Cryan married Thomas Flanagan, and had ch. Patrick, Catherine, Bryan 1845-1925, and one other son. According to oral family history, Mary came from Elphin, which I believe is in Co. Roscommon. The Flanagan-Cryan family lived at Ardsoran, Co. Sligo, very near the Roscommon border. We know nothing of other Cryans, or of Mary's background. Does this help, or confuse? Please reply: mhalstead@snet.net
