I'M NEW HERE AND FOUND THIS INTERESTING my grandfather ARA CRUSENBERRY was from ROCKYMOUNT NC i have heard that his father had 2 wives and 10 kids by eachi had an uncle JOHN CRUSENBERRY(a tabacco farmer) & AUNT ELIZABETH ( not sure but i think she was born a CRUSENBERRY)my grandfather ARA was a navy man and traveled alotthis is where it gets confusingARA married ANN (no madian name known)but they couldn't have kids so they adopted my dad WILLIAM BARON CRUSENBERRY (BORN SEPT.29 1923) (kinda funny the William i'm reading about here maybe took the name from a sea captianand my grandpa being navy man nameing his adopted son William) this wife died and my dad went to live with GRANDMA CRUSENBERRY & AUNT ROCK (ELIZABETH)in ROCKY MOUNT NC HE REMARRIED my grand mother(the one i know )madian name MARGRETTE CULLYFROM INDIANIAscuttlebutt(yea my father and i where both navy also ) has it that margrette was 1 of his girlfriends while in the navy and she could verry well be my dads mother but no one could ever confirm thatgrandpa nor grandma would ever talk about itafter retireing he settled down WITH GRAND MA in SUFFOLK VA ( they already had a small farm there )my dad married FRANCES HOWELLfrom SUFFOLKi was born in California in sept 1949 and when mom called back to tell them they where grandparrentsthey told her they also had a new babby born in march or may of '49 that they had adopted named ROBERT THOMAS CRUSENBERRYwho goes by ''DOC''GRAND PA died not long after retireing from PLANTERS PEANUTS where he was their boiler tender (same thing he did in the NAVY) that would have been in the mid '60's grandma has also passed awaymy UNCLE DOC still lives in SUFFOLK VAsame as my sister ELISABETH CAROL CRUSENBERRY GOMMER(named after the afor mentioned AUNT ELIZABETH)my dad & mon and MY WIFE AND I now live in FORT PIERCE /PORT ST LUCIE FLthis is about all i knowi have been in touch with alot of crusenberry's but they are the WESTERN VA AND KENTUCKYCRUSENBERRY's and don't seam to know anything about the ROCKYMOUNT CRUSENBERRY'S they even have a web site and their genealogy is nothing like what i found here with your accountsthank you for the work you have done and I hope my accounts ofARAhelp fill in a gapGARY DeWITT [email protected]
