My ggrandfather was William Richard Cruse. His death certificate states that he was born 9 Nov 1860 in Kingston,KY to Jackson Cruse and Massa Christopher. I am almost certain that his daughter who was the informant was confused about the mother's given name. William's MOTHER-IN-LAW was named Massa Daniel. Another family source gives Zoba Christopher as William's mother and there is a marriage record listed for Jackson Cruse to Zabiada Christopher 25 Oct 1838 in Madison Co.,KY. I have records for William's descendents or can get them from a cousin.
