I saw your message posted looking for information about Cruse's in KY, IL, IN, MO. I saw the name Thomas Jefferson Cruse in your listing. I do not know a lot about the history of the family, but would like to learn more. My Grandfather was George Washingtion Cruse. The story told to me said he had a twin brother Thomas Jefferson Cruse. They were from Kentucky somewhere around the Bowling Green area. My Grandfather and Grandmother (Opal Gilpen) moved to Illinois sometime around 1929. My father Roy Maxwell Cruse was born in Vermillion County Illinois June 4, 1929. He had a younger sister born after him. He also had 4 brothers and 4 sisters born before him in Kentucky somewhere.
The story also goes that my Grandfather changed the spelling of the Cruse from Crews. If any of this is familar or anyone has more information. I would love to hear from you or would be glad to share any informaiton you might have.
