CRUMRINE-KRUMREIN Research in NJ
I was only able to get one day at the Family History Library in Utah while on our vacation this year.I spent part of it searching the following Salem Co., NJ records in an effort to find whether our Georg Lenhart KRUMREIN owned any land there, when he was taxed there and what Orphan Ct. records there might have been for his step-daughter, Elizabeth RIDMAN.
I also checked the names KRADINGER/KRATTINGER and RIDMAN,RUDMAN(N).KRADINGER (etc.) was the name most oftenmentioned with our KRUMREIN in the church records and RIDMAN/RUDMANN was the name of the previous husband of Georg's wife, Barbara.Other than the records of the following churches (which we already had), I found none of the above names:
1. Swedish Lutheran Churches at Raccoon and Penns Neck
2. Friesburg Emanuel Lutheran Church
The records that I checked were as follows:
Salem Co., NJ Tax Lists 1745-1864 (Film #1763228, Item #4)
(I checked to 1770) - I found an Ann(e) REDMAN and an
Arthur REDMAN in these in the 1690's (probably mother and
son)
NJ Marriage Records & Bonds, 1727-1878 (Film #802939)
(I checked through 1770) - negative for above names
Salem Co., NJ Marriage License Index, 1680-1945 (Film #1871265, Item #1)
(I checked through 1770) - negative for above names
Salem Co., NJ Orphan's Ct. Docket Files, 1748-1798 - there were two films for these years (#1293124 and #1293125) - I only checked the first film and it was negative for RIDMAN
(RE, RIT, RUD, RUT)
FINAL OBSERVATION:
Since the two churches where records of our Georg Lenhart KRUMREIN were found were close to the border between Salem and Gloucester Cos., it might be wise to check theGloucester Co., NJ records as he and the RIDMAN
(etc.) families may have lived there and attended the
churches in Salem Co..
If anyone else has done research into the records of these counties, would they please post their findings here so that all may benefit from them?
Warmly, Dolores
