Yes, this is the same one. He joined in Nashville, January 1862 and fought with that unit at Shiloh Apr 6-7 1862. After the battle the regiment re-enlisted and he became Lt. Colonel. He resigned due to ill health in the spring of 1863.

His Blount County home was added to the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage.

Crump was the second preacher of Clear Springs Methodist Church which was founded in 1822. He was a Mason and Alabama State Senator 1876-1877. That Crump family had slaves. Wife Martha Jane Hanby.
