I found my Grandfather Otis Oliver Crump's parents were Matthew Lee Crump and Sarah Ezella Sanders.
Thanks to Ed Crump, Fred Crump, Tom Crump, Shirley Norman Gunn and others I now know that my line goes back to Robert Crump and Mary Parr.
I have found so much information that I would have found on the internet much sooner if I would have spelled my Grandfathers name differently. I found him as Oliver, Ottis, and I know him as Otis Oliver.
I have to varify this but I have found his siblings listed in several places as
1) Ada Crump 2) Emma Crump 3) William Harris
Crump 4) Pearl Crump 5)Otis Oliver Crump
6) Hermie Olive Crump 7) Tommie Crump 8)Johnny Crump 9) Ola Belle Crump and 10) Jonie Crump
My Grandfather was married twice. My Grandmother was his 2nd wife. She was Mildred Sterns daughter of Charles Sterns and ?.
I found a web site today as listing his wife as Effie McClain. It says they had 4 children. I knew of three. Otis Oliver Crump Jr., Ola, and Mattie. Does anyone know anything about them and what happened to Mattie McClain?
After 2 years of looking I now am finding so much information and so many leads I am in a state of shock. Persistance pays off. I learned not to jump to conclusions too. This is not at all what I had expected to find. I would love to talk to anyone about this family and share information.
Again I want to thank all of you wonderful people that have helped me. In return I hope I can make someone feel what I felt yesterday when I finally found my great grandparents.
Sherry Davis
