Let me do a quick synopsis of my Crump holdings. There were three main families in the 1850 Nicholas Co. Ky census, Joseph (b abt 1799), Richard (b abt 1801), and Beverly (b abt 1805). These three were all born in VA, and may have been brothers. They seem to have come to KY from VA via the Big Stone Gap route, and were in Bath Co for a while. Richard married Nancy Meaite/McCarty in Bath Co 12 July 1823. Their children include:

John W. abt 1830; m. Sally ALEXANDER.
Francis M. abt 1833; m. Catherine Jane BROTHERS.
Sally M. abt 1834
Richard M. 1836-1874
Nancy M. abt 1838, m. James R. MCDANIEL.
James N. abt 1839, m. Jane.
Thomas J. abt 1842.
Taylor, abt 1847, m. Marjorie.
The children of Absalom Crump & Margaret are:
G. Richard, b Nov 1850; m. Matilda BOWEN.
William Franklin, b. 28 Mar 1853; m. Nancy ALEXANDER.
Elizabeth Ann, b. Feb 1855.
Nancy Pickett, b. abt 1857
