I have two Nelson Crumps; one was my uncle who died as a child, and the other was born in probably NC or SC, and is said by some to be the son of a Wm. Crump and a Miss Bennet or Burnett of SC. I saw at one time a marginal note on one of the early years of the New Kent Co., Land Tax list of a Wm. Crump in SC owning a share of some land not listed as belonging to the Crumps. I have kicked myself for not going back and looking for that record. I personally believe this may be the William whose estate is on the Permequins [sic?] County NC tax list in 1807. I have a problem with equipment right now, so this from a feeble old mind, use with caution, because we want to get it right, please. erozelle@koyote.com
