Hi, Mike. I'm sorry that I cannot provide a picture of Dr. Crump, but I do know a little about him. I got it from two seperate sources. First, Goodspeed on Hardin County, and the ancestry information from another Crump in SC. Dr. Crump was born Oct 8, 1809 to Fendall Crump (1770-1823)and Elizabeth Griffith (d. bef 1815 in Madison Co, AL). Fendall was son or Richard Crump (1711-abt 1782) and Susannah Wilkinson. Richard was son of another Richard (b abt 1674) and Francis Unknown (b 1711-1720 New Kent County VA). This Richard was son of Stephen Crump (b abt 1655 in NKC and d 1700). Stephen was son of William Crump (b abt 1625 in VA) and wife Ann or Anne unknown). Parents of William not confirmed. Dr. Crump lived in McNairy County adjacent to Hardin Co where Crump TN is and purchased the Landing from a man by the name of Burnett probably in the 1840's and changed the name to Crump's Landing. In 1850 Dr. Crump is in Hardin Co and had wife Elizabeth, son Fendall 6, dau Laura R. 4, and son Wm. C. 2. We think the Dr. died in Purdy TN about 1857. Of interest to me is that in Crump TN there is a historical marker that says that the well known Confederate General Albert Sidney Johnston died there during the battle. My grandfather was Albert Sidney Johnston Crump, but I am not descended from Dr. Crump. There are a number of businesses and public buildings there named Crump. Like the Crump Fire Department, etc. Hope this helps. Ed Crump, Jr. in Louisiana Notify Administrator about this message?
