I do not know of any other children of Francis Crump except Melvina Ann and, possibly, a Susan Elizabeth Crump b. 1835. However, Francis Crump's land grant was authorized by the Scrip-Warrant Act of 1812, which I assume is connected to service in the War of 1812. I found the name Francis Crump in a search of soldiers who served in the War of 1812 (www.sierra.com/sierrahome/familytree/records/w1812/list). He served in the 1 Reg't Art'y (Sitcher's) New York Vols. I'm hoping that that Francis Crump is my Francis. If so, we could have a New York connection. I have not been able to find any information about the 1st Regiment so far. Would appreciate anything you might know. Do you have any Melvinas, Anns, Susans, or Elizabeths in your Crump clan?
