Tammy, thank you for your reply as well. You asked about the DNA results. So far we have about 45 DNA results in. What we have learned is that by the Revolutionary War, there were apparently only four Crump lines in this country. We have descendants of about 34 of them identified as descendants of only four Crumps who were here before about 1783. 26 were descended from one of the two William Crumps who show up in VA before 1650, 6 from Adam who was from Ireland, and 2 from Conrad, who was a Hessian Soldier from Germany who switched sides and fought with the Patriots. Teh rest appear to have immingrated between 1800 and 1900 or so. At least three of the early lines had descendants who migrated to NC, so therein lies our problem. My ancestors were descended from Adam from Ireland. But the descendants of Conrad were not far away, so sometimes hard to figure out. With the proximity of VA to NC, it is also very possible that descendants from all four of the first Crumps ended up in NC. If you have a male Crump in your family, it is easy to determine which of these line he came from. If you want more info on that please email me directly at edcrump@suddenlink.net since we do not discuss prices of this kind of testing on this forum. I look forward to getting some information on your grandfather's family. Regards, Ed Crump, Jr. Notify Administrator about this message?
