My husband descends from William Crump, probably born in Virginia circa 1765. He moved first to Rockingham Co., NC, next to Bennettsville, SC, then to Old Pendleton Dist., SC where he settled on Turkey Creek. By 1784 he married a Miss Bennett, also from Virginia. Bennettsville, SC was supposedly named for her family. William is believed to have had a sister, Elizabeth. The name of only one child of William's is known, John P. Crump. He was born 1785 in South Carolina. In the early 1800s he married Isabell NELSON. They moved to Alabama, settleing in Jones Valley near present-day Birmingham. Their children were: Eruby, Loucretia, Diadema, Emma Francis, James Pinkney, Olivia Malissa, and William Newton. I'd like to know the parents of William Crump, Miss Bennett, and Isabell Nelson, or any other information on the people named herein.
