I am reading a book that has a picture of TURNER CRUMP's tombstone in the Salem Pioneer Cemetery, Salem Oregon. Tombstone say he was: BORN In West Va. June 14, 1799,
Crossed the Plains to Oregon in '46. Died May 18, 1862.
Book is SENSE OF PLACE, AMERICAN REGIONAL CULTURES, ed. by Barbara Allen & Thomas J. Schlereth (Lexington: Univ Press of KY, 1990). Picture is on page 100.
