Beth and other researchers, I have not looked at this in some time, but the Land Records in Louisiana show a Pleasant C. Crump acquiring land in 1849 and 1860. Pleasant J. Crump (son of Rowland, son of John Bushrod Crump) is in the 1860 NC Census, so this is not that Pleasant, as he was here in the 1860 one. And this could not be Col Pleasant R. (Riggs) Crump of Civil War fame.

This one is shown as "P.C. Crump" in the 1860 Caddo Louisiana census. His wife is "Ms. C. Crump", 48, showing both of them born in North Carolina. This census was/is very difficult to read, but it appears that children were "Chas?" 16, Miss M. Crump 15, Ch. S. Crump, 14, Ms. E. Crump 13, Adelia Crump 13, and Bud Crump 12.

Next door is Robert Crump 22, born LA, and E. Crump (wife) born LA). In the household is a C. B. Gray 25, and other Gray's next door.

I know I have asked this question before, but really want to find out who this Pleasant C. Crump was. Any ideas appreciated. If he was, in fact, born around 1807-8, then he could not be son of Rowland, son of John Bushrod Crump, Jr. On the other hand, William Crump, another son of John, Jr., migrated to Catahoula Parish Louisiana in the 1840's.

So, who were Pleasant C. Crump and Robert W. Crump in Caddo Parish Louisiana? Thanks, Ed
