OK, this is most interesting. I suppose that it is possible that these two Williams could be the same if only based on the geography. However, the names of their wifes would indicate that they were not! The timimg is obviously important, and "even if" the Lancaster area was a part of earlier York, the names of the wifes of the two Williams would indicate that they were, in fact, two different people. So it begs the question as to when the records of Lancaster and York became available. The implication of all this is that there is a strong possiblilty that these two William Crumps were related. This is not a new thought either. A considerable amount of research time and money has been done by our Crump group to try to figure this out, but, at this point, we have not been able to come up with any conclusions. We have engaged researchers in both Salt Lake City and in England to try to sort this out, but with no new information at this point. Thank you for your listing your sources for this research. One of these days we may be able to figure all this out, but we are not there yet. Best Regards from Louisiana, Ed Notify Administrator about this message?
