I just ran into a very interesting site in searching for my Crumps. It lists Crumps of Missouri very early and thought you might be interested.
On the American State Paper, Public lands, V6, Private Land Claims in Territory of LA & Missouri (Later listed as Missouri Territories)
George Crump Claim # 101,Pg.858& 859,640 Acres/450 Arpents
This is a lenthy claim that cover from 04 May 1800 when it was first applied for: George Crump, a Roman Catholic,is requesting 460 Arpents.04 may 1800: Family of petitioner is himself, his wife & 5 children, statement of Don Dantiago Mackay of St. Andre settlement (Missouri Territories).
Claim was granted 09 may 1800 by Carlos Dehault Delassus.
At some later point the Board voted to NOT confirm land claim.(I think this was around 1811)
Then:
FINALLY in Nov 12, 1833: Board voted to confirm claim.
American State papers: Public Land, Vol 2
Commissions certificates to Lands of Territory of LA - MO
Territory Land Claims.
Robert Crump, Claim # 1200, 19 aug 1811, (Name of Claim) Settlement Right, 640 acres, 450 Arpents, (District) Cape Girardeau. (Would need to check & see if Cape Girardeau was formed from St. Andre)
Vol #3, LA &MO Claims
Robert Crump, Claim #1200, Granted
I looked forward & back on this and could not find a date anywhere for these pages. **Could this Robert Crump be applying for the land claim of the George Crump above?**
Not sure if these Crumps fit into my line but hope this is of some use to you.
Marsha
