It certainly sounds like my ancester Robert Francis Crump is the Robert F. Crump who was the brother of your ancester. However, with Rhoda Flournoy as a mother, and Robert being so common a name, he might have been Robert Flournoy Crump I suppose.

I looked up Rhoda Flournoy, finding her to be the daughter of James Flournoy, whose wife at the time of his death, but not necessarily Rhoda's mother, was named Keziah, maiden surname unknown. Rhoda's siblings were Jacob, James, Martha Farrar, Lydia Dunnavent, Forest, Nancy, Peggy Jones, Seth Ward, Hannah, Nelson, Elizabeth , Jean, Francis & Polly. All but Jacob, James, Martha and Lydia were listed in the will book as "other children", so perhaps some or all were actually James' and Keziah's grandchildren.

The Flournoy family came to Virginia in 1700 or 1701 as part of a settlement of French Huguenots. If you're interested, the line traces back to the 1500s in France fairly easily.

Are you sure about Beverly being a sister? I know of at least 3 other Beverly Crumps, and all were male.

I've got a list of a slew of Crump births and marriages, but don't know how they're connected. I'll try to get them in electronic form so maybe you can use and/or help me with some.
