My grandfather was Andrew Jackson Crump b 1,Sept. 1891 in Union County Miss. to Robert Douglas Crump Born about 1857 or 1858 and Margaret Alexander,
Robert Douglas Crump was married at least twice maybe three times, I know of the marriage to Margaret because she was my grandfathers mother, but I am sure of second time because my grandfather was in contact with half brothers and sisters the last of which died only a few yrs ago.
Robert Douglas Crump was son of James Douglas Crump(b about 1800 in Ga and Matilda or Milissa ?????? b about 1826 in Tennessee.
My grandfather Andrew Jackson Crump lived all his life in Benton County Ms and my parents lived in Memphis, Tn.Boss Crump had a son named Robert which was also my fathers first name, needless to say, there was mail confusion etc.But my grandfather, never knew of any relation to Boss Crump.
Also there was story in my family that James Douglas was married more than once as well, it makes sense that he was married befor my ggggrandmother since she was born about 26 years later than he was. The Crumps of n. Miss. lived(and/or) did business in more than one county (Benton,Union, and Tippah) but my grandfather died in Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN, Shelby county, we have family history of going to Memphis Hospital from N. Miss, So even though my grandfather lived whole life in Ms he died in ShelbY, County, TN. So any search for this line should include Union, Tippah, and Benton County Ms, as well as Shelby County TN.
I am not expert by any means but since I am still in Mphs/N.Miss area I hope this will help some.
