Looking for information regarding a Phebe and Sarah Crume who are believed to have married a Samuel Perry and James Brown in the early 1800s in Dickson County, TN.
William Crume died enroute to Nelson County, Kentucky with his family in 1795. His father Philip Crume gave his daughter-in-law Mary Ann (formerly Thomas) and her two infant daughters a tract of 72 acres in the county. In 1798, the widow Crume married Samuel Horsley, and they removed from Nelson County to settle in Dickson County, Tennessee. In 1810, a Samuel Perry and a James Brown sold the 72 acre tract of land belonging to Mary Ann and her daughters Sarah and Phebe to a resident of Nelson County. I have been unable to find any evidence of the women selling their land in either county. It may be Samuel Perry and James Brown acquired it through marriage to William Crume’s daughters.
If anyone has any clues, I'd love to hear from you.
