This is the information I have on the Mercy Saunders line. You probably already have this, too. Interesting that there are three different spellings of Lanphear/Lamphear/Lanphere in the material.

2. William CRUMB (Daniel ) was born bet Aug 1677 & Mar 1678 in Westerly, Kings County, Rhode Island. He died 1746 in Hopkinton, Kings County, Rhode Island.

2. William-2 Crumb (Daniel-1), of Westerly, RI and Hopkinton, RI, son of Daniel and Rachel (Roberts) Crumb, was born between Aug. 1677 and March 1678, died in Hopkinton in 1746. He married first, about 1698, Mercy (daughter of Tobias Saunders) died before 1736, and he married secondly, April 25, 1736 (by Elder John Maxson, J.P.) Hannah Lewis, bapt. 1703, youngest daughter of Daniel Lewis.
Reckoning from the time of his father's second marriage and from his admission as a freeman, William was born between Aug. 1677 and March 1678. At a town meeting held at Roger Larkin's house March 4, 1699, he was made freeman of the Colony. In 1710-11, he was a purchaser in the "Lewis and Maxson Purchase" in Hopkinton and was called "William Crumb of Hopkinton."

CRUMB, William, of We, yeoman. Will dated 6 July 1741, proven 30 June 1746, pgs 70-71. Mentions: Wife Hannah Crumb. Mentions 2 unnamed sons which I had by wife Hannah & the bringing up of my children I had & shall have by her. Sons Joseph Crumb & William Crumb who have both had. Daughters Rachell Pendleton, Mary Lanphear, Jemima Butler, & Elizabeth Saunders have all had. Witn: Joseph Stillman, John Stillman, Elisha Stillman.

William married (1) Mercy SAUNDERS, daughter of Tobias SAUNDERS and Mary PECKHAM, about 1698. Mercy was born about 1677/1680 in Westerly, Kings County, Rhode Island. She died before 1736 in Westerly, Kings County, Rhode Island.

Mercy Crumb was an original member of the Hopkinton F.S.D.A. and was recorded there in 1712. In 1724 a deed was signed by her.


They had the following children:

+ 5 M i Joseph CRUMB was baptized 1699 and died 1778.
+ 6 F ii Rachel CRUMB was baptized 1700 and died after 1751.
+ 7 M iii William CRUMB was baptized 1702.
8 F iv Mercy CRUMB was baptized 1704 in Westerly, Kings County, Rhode Island.

7. Mercy Crumb (Wm-2, Daniel-1), daughter of William and Mercy (Saunders) Crumb, was baptised in 1704. She married as his second wife, Daniel Lamphear, Sr. Daniel was son of John (died in 1757 at Westerly) and Ruth, and grandson of George Lamphear. His first wife was Kattron Prosser, probably the sister of of Ichabod who married Patience Lamphear, sister of Daniel.

Mercy married Daniel LANPHERE Sr., son of John LANPHERE and Ruth. Daniel was born 1707 in Westerly, Kings County, Rhode Island. He died before 29 Dec 1788 in Westerly, Kings County, Rhode Island.
