Penny, your family lore is correct, the "Crum Book" is in error. William Hamilton Crum's 1st wife was Rebecca Ann McDonald; they were married 12 Nov 1846 in Scott Co., IN [marriage record is in Scott Co. County Clerk's office - I have a copy somewhere but will have to find it]. The Crum Book is also in error about Wm. Hamilton's death - He died 28 Oct 1895 on a farm on Drywood Creek (not Dry Creek) near Moundville in Vernon Co., MO, and is buried in Shiloh Cemetery just south of the farm, across the border in Barton Co., MO, near the town of Oskaloosa. I am a descendant of his brother John Wesley Crum. I have researched these families beyond the Crum Book, and would be happy to share.
