Claude C. Crum, from Jeffersonville, Indiana, came from a large and long line of Crums originally settled in US in Winchester, Virginia (ca 1740 - English). Three brothers, one moved to Indiana (veteran of Revolutionary War). Family propsered but has largely died out or been absorbed today. Lots of info in Jeffersonville City Library, genealog. Family was related to Crums in north central Kentucky area. Claude was Doctor, U of Louisville, 1901, had a brother, also Doctor, U of Louisville, both Majors, US Army, WWI. Brother Wayne (?) settled around Wheeling W. Va post WWI (?). We have no record on him. Claude, no children, related by marriage (his third). Family was large in mercantile and agriculture from southern Indiana. Claude's grandfather (John, I believe) was married three times, produced about 20 children. Very propserous in 1800s, historian at Library, books published. More info if needed.
