My wife is descendant of this Richard D Crum. Our records indicate he was born in Haverstraw, N.Y. and died 19 Sept.,1847. He is buried in cemetery of Old First Church in West Long Branch, N.J. His first wife was Elizabeth Gardner born 24 Sept.,1768. Died 2January,1831.She is buried in cemetery of Trinity Church, New York City, N.Y. This cemetery was covered over some years ago and turned into a city park. Elizabeth was the daughter of Elisha Gardner and Sarah Patterson. Sarah was he daughter of Sunderland Patterson, who, I believe, was also a R.W. Soldier.

My records show the name of the second wife of Richard D. Crum to be, Sarah Jane Miller.

My wife is descended through the youngest daughter, Elizabeth. Elizabeth eloped with Daniel McClaren, the son of a wealthy wine merchant in NYC, and a student of Aaron Burr.
Richard d Crum had the marriage annuled, even though a child had already been born. This child was named Billy Rice and he became a famous circus clown. Elizabeth was married second to Hugh Manahan. Elizabeth died 31 January,1836

I have no information on other children and only know that one of the sisters of Elizabeth was married to a Mr. Hugh Reed
