A biography of Paul Crum, lawyer at Scobey, MT, is included in "Montana, Its Story and Biography", Vol 3, pages 1801 & 1082. Parents: Taylor Crum, pioneer lawyer at Fargo, ND, and Helen Bixby, born New York State, daughter of Simon and Phila (Lake) Bixby. Children: Dr. Colon Crumb (Fargo, ND); Paul; Leon (Zion City, IL). Helen died in 1884, Santa Cruz, CA, when Paul was only four years of age and he lived with his maternal grandparents in Santa Cruz. Three years later he joined his father in Fargo, ND, and finished his education in Fargo High School. Paul served in the Spanish American War, a participant in engagements from Manila to Santa Tomas. He went through the campaign without being wounded. On 5 Dec 1908, Tacoma, WA, Paul married Miss Ingrid Kirkebeerg, daughter of Gunder and Gunhild (Wold) Kirkeberg. Her father was a merchant at Cummings, ND. In 1913, Paul opened a new law office in Scobey, MT. Children of Paul and Ingrid Crum: Stephen, Irma, Helen, Taylor, Jr. I am not related.
