I noticed in the 1830 census of Lawrence County, Kentucky there is a David Crum (and many other Crums) living next door to the Adair family. I looked in Lawrence County of 1840 and found a D. Crumm living there. He and his wife are in their 30s and they have both sons and daughters less than 10 years old. This may be your David. I have Crums in my ancestry and they sometimes spelled it with two ms and sometimes with a b on the end. My Crums went from Tennessee to Mississippi to Texas. Hope this helps you.
