Linda, Thank you so much for posting that information. I am curious if your VanMeters were related to the Crum/Crom family nearly 80 years prior to the Crums coming to MD. It seems that there were both VanMeters and Crum/Croms in NJ and NY before that, all in the same general area. Abraham Crum's great grandmother Mayke Hendricks Crum married Jan Joosten VanMetern prior to coming to New Amsterdam about 1660.
