Anna,
Gilbert Crum (1700-1762) of Frederick County, MD had six sons. Cornelius and Peter apparently moved to Huntingdon County, PA, where Peter was killed by Indians. It's possible (and based on your information, perhaps probable) that their brothers Gilbert (b. ca. 1740) and Abraham (b. 1753) moved with them to PA before moving to Bedford County, VA. That would explain the 1783 birth in PA. Two other brothers, William and John, apparently stayed in Frederick County, MD. I believe that I'm descended from John, but records of him are scarce, so I haven't made a conclusive link yet.
