Can anyone on the list clarify the brothers Peter, Hiram and Ellis? When did Peter and Hiram come to MS - the Alcorn, Tippah, Tishomingo Co. area? Did Ellis go back to the "old country"? Where did the brothers come from before they came to MS?

My husband is supposed to be descended from Peter through his son, Mathis (Matt). I've not been able to find a Crum by this name in any of the MS research on Crums. A Madison D. has been mentioned in some of the postings on this site. Could these be the same person?

A marriage notice for John Alexander Crum shows his father's name was Mathis Crum. Marriage was performed in Kossuth, MS in 1883.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
