Henry Crum's ancestors and background.

I am a descendant of Henry Crum:

Maximilian (1976); Harold FRederick Jr(1943); Harold Frederick Sr (1912, William Solomon (1875); John David (1851); John William (1823); Henry and Sarah.

I began doing some family research few months ago and I couldn't find much about Henry, so I contact Gwen Boyer and she gave me your address. I am not very familiar with most of the Crums or Maryland because I was raised in Argentina and I came to Texas three years ago.

Most of the information I have at the moment comes from research that one of my aunts did and from my father. I allways had understood that the Crums came from Germany. When I tried to connect Henry with other Crums, I just found some Crum/ Krum in PA living at that time named Johannes Henrich and John from Philadelphia Co, born in 1786 and 1789, according to Marriage Records from the Lutheran Church. I know also that there were a Crum family from Switzerland, some from Germany and some british living in Monocacy in the 1600's (originally named Crumb).

I read the letter that you send to Gwen about the Dutch origin of our Crums, and it seems to agree with some other researchers ( when I looked at Gilbert Crum at Rootsweb). I would like to know how did you came to the conclusion that Henry was related to Gilbert (it would be his grandfather?) and which sources can I check for more information. I wonder also why he was the first Henry among this family. It is possible that John, the one thjat did not attend to Church, would be his father?.

In my family, the names William, John, Frederick, Solomon and Harold seems to be the most common.

I am also in touch with a girl that is related to us ( John David's Grand granddaughter ) bullD2001@aol.com.

It will be of great help to me if you can give me some information on the Crums.

Could you answer me at my e-mail adress?.

Best Regards,

Maximilian.
