I have viewed many discussions regarding Henry Crum son of Christian Crum of Frederick County Va. who married Margaret Hostenpiller, to be the same Henry that also married Martha Horn progenitor of many of the Crum's in Kentucky. This information is not correct and I believe I can prove that to be a fact. Henry Crum son of Christian B-May 1, 1789 M- Margaret Hostenpiller Feb. 28, 1825 book 34 page 29 Frederick Co. Va. marriages. In 1819 Henry Crum bought property here in Hillsboro, Ohio I believe with the intent of moving here with the majority of the family. It appears he did not and married Margaret 6 years later 1825 in Winchester. Page 366 Deed book 3 Highland County Ohio April 1, 1835 Henry Crum and Margaret his wife of Frederick Co. Va. to John Baskin of Highland Co. land in Hillsboro. Henry is listed on the 1850 census of Frederick Co. Va. Henry Crum D- March 17, 1865 and Margaret Hostenpiller D- Nov. 26, 1851 both are buried in lot # 108 old section Mt. Hebron Winchester Va. I have personally been there and seen the graves. Henry who married Martha Horn I believe died in 1840 in Floyd Co. Ky and Martha died in 1850 in Lawerence Co. Ky. This Henry could still be related to Anthony and Christian Crum of Frederick but it was not Christians, Henry. There are other Henry's. Has anyone searched the records in Washington County Va. Henry and Martha supposedly had one child there in 1804 or 1805, having left Ky. and prior to that Tenn. where many of their children were born. After 1805 they returned to Ky. Why would they go to Washington Co. Va. just for 1 year unless there was family there, either Crum or Horn. Hope this gets some research going on finding who this Henry Crum was.
