Searching information for a great-great grandfather, Samuel (S.) Cruise; birth ca 1810, probably South Carolina. Samuel married Mary (Maria) Stringer (b. ca 1812- d. 20 Feb 1861) daughter of John Stringer and Barbara Allen Abercrombie Stringer. Marriage date was ca 1830 in Hall County, Georgia. Samuel and Mary Cruise had the following children: Martha Jane, James T., Eliza, William Samuel, Barbara Catherine, John A., Emily, Virginia, and Mary Ann. Between 1838 and 1844 the family moved to Talladega County, Alabama. My great-grandmother, Barbara Catherine Cruise married Joseph Simeon Moore on 14 February 1867 in Talladega County, Alabama. In the 1890s she and Joseph moved to Hill County, Texas. Around 1903, they moved to Parker County, Texas living there until their deaths. Any information on this family will be greatly appreciated.
