Jacob & Sarah (Stoner) Croy, of LaGrange co., Indiana
I have recently been going through LaGrange co. records and have found some important information regarding this family.
Before I get to that info, I would like to report that we have found the tombstone of Jacob Croy, who died in LaGrange co. He is buried at Eagle Cemetery, Greenfield Twp, LaGrange co., IN. He died 15 Apr 1850 aged 70 years.
Looking at probate records in LaGrange co., I found the following:

The Elizabeth Croy, who is mentioned here does not appear to be a daughter, so is probably, a daughter-in-law of a deceased son. But which one can't be determine. In a quit claim deed, she is referred to as "Elizabeth Stoner, of Seneca county, Ohio."
Also, all the records I have seen, refer to Jacob & Sarah (Stoner) Croy, say daughter Mary, was wife of Robert Russell, but these court records refer to her as "Mary Davis." This seems to call into question the Russell connection.
Thanks to Kay Gabel, a great Croy/Huston researcher, for her trip to Eagle Cemetery, and examination of the tombstone for Jacob Croy, who is called "Jacob Cory" in the LaGrange co, cemetery books.
Would appreciate any comment on the Russell/Davis question.
