The disappearance of Thomas Crowson is a mystery that has never been solved. In view of the fact that no descendants of his have been found, it appears likely that he either changed his name to Coe or died young. On the other hand, Robert's other son, William, left many descendants. In fact, probably 90% of the Crowsons in America are descended from him.

The Robert Crowson (spelled Croson in the deed book record) in Bertie Co. NC in 1739 might or might not be the same Robert Crowson who was previously in Accomack Co., VA, but there is reason to believe it might be the same man.

In 1999 I published a book on Crowson genealogy, tracing as many of the Crowson descendants as I could. Please contact me if I can be of any help.
