Cynthia, several years ago when I was preparing my book on the Crowson family, I was in contact with a Mike Crowson in England. Mike was a professional researcher, who was interested in the family. He did a huge amount of research, trying to find the ancestors of Robert Crow(d)son who came to America in 1686. Although he was never able to establish a firm connection, he did find a probable connection. His basic findings are included in my book.
