Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

Mary Elizabeth Turner was first married to Green Rowland, 8/14/1832 in GA, before marrying Jonathan Thomas Crowson on 1/31/1857 in Pulaski Co., AR. Green Rowland was b. about 1814 in GA, and died 1856. He and Mary had nine children, one of which was James Rowland, b. 1844, who might be the Hiram J. Rowland that you mention. Early in the Civil War, Jonathan Thomas Crowson and his stepson, James Rowland, joined the Confederate Army, served until the war ended, and then died of typhoid fever at Corinth, MS, while on their way home. If I can be of any help, please email me at xplorer3@aol.com.
