This is a long shot, but I have a Jeremiah Crowley, convicted of horse stealing in Cork in 1819 who was transported to NSW for life arriving on the Hadlow in 1820. He gained a conditional pardon in December 1834. Jeremiah, born about 1796, married in 1839. He had three daughters, the first, Mary Ann was named after her mother, Matilda's mother. The second was called Catherine which suggests this was his mother's name.
What part of Australia did your Catherine and her husband settle in? Jeremiah had a farm at Morefield/ Kingsgrove near Sydney.
