Howdy, cousin! I believe that my ggg-g'mother, Sarah L. CROWL, was the dau of Philip & Mary (FISCHER) Crowl of Neshannock, Lawrence Co., PA. That makes her the sister of your James CROWL. Although I haven't gotten absolute confirmation yet, here's the evidence I have so far: 1. My Sarah's maiden name is CROWL, as shown on the death certificate for my gg-g'father (her son). 2. Sarah's birthdate is Jan 1836 according to 1900 Census. 3. Philip's dau, Sarah, is listed as ae 13 in 1850 Census, giving her an approx birthdate of 1837 -- well within acceptable "tolerances" for census-derived birthdates. 4. Philip's dau, Sarah, is NOT listed in 1860 Census. 5. My Sarah married ca 1854 or 1855, and is listed in 1860 with her husband, living with her in-laws in Perry Co., PA. 6. Philip's dau, Sarah, is the only Sarah CROWL I can find who a) was born in PA; and b) is the correct age. Yes, it's circumstantial, but still the chances are pretty good that it is all correct. Do you have any info that would help me affirmatively connect my Sarah (who married Geo. W. WILT) to Philip & Mary CROWL of Lawrence Co., PA? If not, do you have any suggestions about how to go about verifying this? Thanks in advance. Notify Administrator about this message?
