Dear Deanna,
Did you know that Parsons was a family name linked with the Croul line from Michigan?
I haven't made the exact connection yet, but I believe this is the line of John Croul , who married 1782 Mary Coss, daughter of Col. Coss. John's father was Frederick Krull (b. 1718), his mother was Eve Young (Yonghe), from Prussia.I am descended from John and Mary's daughter Polly Croul (b. 1792)who married Dr. Lewis Carlisle.
I don't know the names of Polly's siblings, but it is very possible that Col. Jerome Croul may be Polly's nephew.Jerome Croul married Ellen Parsons, daughter of Hon. Ezra Parsons.Jerome Croul and James C. Parsons formed the law firm of Parsons and Croul, of Detroit.
The Croul family was in the leather, tanning and belting business called Croul Brothers. Some of this information came from EARLY DAYS IN DETROIT, papers written by General Friend Palmer of Detroit, Published by Hunt & June, Det., Gale Research Co. , and THE CITY OF DETROIT MICHIGAN 1701-1922, vol III., S. J. Clarke Publishg Co. 1922.,and Wayne County MI Chronography of Notable Events.
Hope this is helpful to you!Best Wishes!Jan
